The Light Brahma breed is known as the “gentle giants” in the chicken world. These wonderfully peaceful birds were originally brought over from India by way of China. They were brought to the US in the mid 1800s. The Light Brahmas is a favorite for those that enjoy the larger bodied breeds. The Light Brahma is primarily white feathered with very striking black with green sheened lacing around their necks, tails, and legs. The leg and foot feathering gives this already big bodied breed a wonderfully unique look and even bigger appearance. The adorable leg and foot feathering gives them the illusion of stomping around the yard in big fluffy boots. These are known to be some very gentle birds despite their large stature and make a great choice for families that will frequently handle and care for their pets. The Light Brahma can be broody and do make wonderful mothers if given the opportunity. The eggs that they produce are medium to large brown eggs. They do well within mixed flocks of other very docile breeds and could be bullied if put with more active breeds. Fully grown females will reach about 9 1/2 pounds while males can reach 12 pounds.

About Your Ship Date:
We will email a ship date to you within 5 days of placing your order. Your chicks will arrive 1 to 3 days after that ship date. You should receive a phone call from your local post office upon delivery and we recommend you pick them up immediately upon notification.

Live Chick Guarantee
We guarantee 100% live and healthy chicks upon delivery. Please contact us48 hours after you have received your chicks to report any losses, so we may reimburse you for the cost of those birds. Shipping charges are not eligible for reimbursement. Reshipments are subject to availability and minimum shipping requirements. If eligible, we will reship only once. Thereafter, we will issue a refund only. Please report all losses at one time, at the end of the 48 hour period.
Cancellations & Changes
A miniumum of two week notice prior to your ship date must be given to cancel or change a live chick order.
