The Splash Cochin Standard chicken has feathered legs and fluffy gray feathers with black spots. Thanks to an abundance of feathers, these chickens do better in cool weather than in a warm climate.

They are good foragers. And the hens have a well deserved reputation for being excellent setters and wonderful mothers.

Splash Cochin Standards come from breeding two Blue Cochin Standards together. About one-third of the chicks will be splash. Breeding splash to splash also results in splash chicks, although future generations will gradually become lighter in color.
