    Dustin Bath Powder for Poultry

Chickens like to take baths, not in the water, but the dust. Backyard chickens should have constant access to a dust box. It's a natural, non-polluting cleaner.

Lumino Dusting Bath Powder is a blend of specially selected earth minerals, clay, washed smooth sand, dust, oyster shell powder, and crushed alfalfa meal. This fine, loose mix is easily fluffed under feathers. Using this powder encourages preening. Preening releases new oils that spread over the feathers to keep them in good condition and waterproof.

If the dust box is located in the coop, place the chickens’ food at the opposite end to keep it ‘dust-free’. For free-range chickens, you can use a box or dig a hole in a sheltered area to keep it dry. A heavy-duty plastic tub with a seal-tight lid makes an ideal box. It can be moved around easily. Left open on sunny days, it can be closed or moved into the coop during inclement weather. Be sure the box or tub is sturdy as the ladies often perch on the sides waiting for their turn. Fill the dust box or hole at least half full of dusting powder. Replenish when it gets low. It should be kept free of feces, litter, and other foreign matter.

It is very important to have a dust bath in the coop in cold climates where hens may be inside for long periods. It is best to locate it in the warmest part of the coop. Dusting helps cool poultry during hot weather.

If you want super clean and healthy chickens to make sure they have continual access to a dust bath. Most chicken owners agree that when their chickens are dusting they make the happiest, most joyful sounds you will ever hear. When baby chicks can venture outside they are mature enough for a dust bath.

INGREDIENTS: Pure Food Grade freshwater Diatomaceous Earth (Amorphous non-crystalline silica), Oyster Shell flour, Bentonite clay, Glacial rock dust, and cleaned, washed and screened play sand.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE: If the box is located in the coop, place the chickens' food at the opposite end to keep it dust-free. For free-range chickens, use a box or dig a hole in a sheltered area to keep it dry.

Add additional powder as the level drops and keep free of dropping and foreign matter.
