Brassy Back Old English Game Bantam chickens for sale are a colorful choice for backyard flock owners who want a small, hardy breed with bold plumage, active personality, and classic exhibition appeal. Old English Game Bantams are true bantams, meaning they do not have a large standard-size counterpart, making them a great fit for small coops, ornamental flocks, and hobby chicken keepers.

The Brassy Back Old English Game Bantam is one of several Old English bantam varieties developed in Great Britain. These birds most likely trace back to mixed-breed bantams that once roamed the English countryside. The Brassy Back variety was accepted into the American Poultry Association Standard of Perfection in 1990.

Brassy Back males have beautiful black and brassy-gold plumage, while females have black feathers tinged with brassy-gold. Their proud stance, alert expression, and rich coloring make them a fun and eye-catching addition to backyard flocks and show pens.

These bantams are hardy, long-lived, and active. They enjoy roosting up high, often 3 to 4 feet or more off the ground, so a safe coop setup with suitable roosting space is important. Hens are known for being excellent and protective mothers, while roosters may protect the females and sometimes help with young chicks.

If you are looking for bantam chickens for sale, Brassy Back Old English Game Bantams are a wonderful way to add color, confidence, and traditional bantam charm to your backyard flock.
