The Barred Plymouth Rock is a symbol of true American History. This wonderful breed was created in New England in the 1800s. The barred variety were the very first of the Plymouth Rock line. These are some of the sweetest birds that one can ever own. The Barred Rock is definitely a favorite among chicken owners past and present. There is a special sparkle in their eyes that really pulls you in. Black and white feathers cover their body forming little stripes or “bars”, which is where the breeds name originates. Brightly colored shiny combs proudly stand atop their heads as a bold indicator of good health and hardiness. The calm and passive nature of the Barred Plymouth Rock make them an absolute ease and joy to care for. These birds enjoy being grouped with others of its kind or being mixed with other docile breeds. They are curious creatures that enjoy seeking insects and scratching around also making them entertaining to watch. This breed will do well in all climates. They are very good layers providing a light brown to peachy colored eggs throughout the year. Most hens will reach an average of 6 pounds and roosters about 7 1/2.

About Your Ship Date:
We will email a ship date to you within 5 days of placing your order. Your chicks will arrive 1 to 3 days after that ship date. You should receive a phone call from your local post office upon delivery and we recommend you pick them up immediately upon notification.
Please note: the requested month to ship is subject to change based on availability.
Live Chick Guarantee
We guarantee 100% live and healthy chicks upon delivery. Please contact us 48 hours after you have received your chicks to report any losses, so we may reimburse you for the cost of those birds. Shipping charges are not eligible for reimbursement. Reshipments are subject to availability and minimum shipping requirements. If eligible, we will reship only once. Thereafter, we will issue a refund only. Please report all losses at one time, at the end of the 48 hour period.
Cancellations & Changes
A miniumum of two week notice prior to your ship date must be given to cancel or change a live chick order.
